The home of Privacy Breaches and LIES

I took my phone to MM ALL ELECTRONICS for repairs. I was told that it would take 2 days to assess the damages and 5 days to repair the phone. 7 days in total. Because my phone is an international model (which I did not know when I bought it) they needed to confirm with Samsung if the warranty was valid in South Africa before they proceeded with repairs as the phone is still new. They said they'd keep me updated via email throughout the process. They instructed me to put my phone in maintenance mode to protect my privacy, and ensured me that I did not need to format the memory because everything is highly monitored. Three days later, after receiving no communication, I tried calling them with no success. It is almost impossible to get through to these people on the phone! When I finally got through, I was told that parts were ordered and the warranty is valid, that I should get my phone within the promised time period.

On the sixth day, I struggled again to get through to them after still not receiving a single email. Their story changed completely. I was told that they are waiting for Samsung to confirm the warranty before repairs can be done. I called Samsung myself and was informed that approval was given to MM ALL, and parts were delivered to the store for my phone five days prior! I confronted Tia Simon at MM ALL about this telephonically, and she said that Samsung was lying to me. I asked her to call me back once she received feedback from Samsung about this "false information" and did not receive a call back. I can only describe her as arrogant and entitled. She spoke down to me the entire time, was impatient, and was blatantly lying to me about the situation.

Aparently, MM ALL isn't Samsungs preferred service provider, and they recommend I go to one of their affiliate stores (Woolworths, Telkom, etc) where they will send the phone directly to Samsung for repairs. I wish I knew this, as I only took it to MM ALL because a staff member at Samsung in Cresta Mall told me to go there.

Whats crazy is that the ticket was closed with Samsung on their side since the 3rd day my phone was in, and my phone was with MM ALL for 9 days for no reason! Samsung themselves told me to collect my phone from MM ALL as there seems to be something strange going on. They did not know why there was such a delay in getting my phone back.

I rushed to the store the same day to collect my phone regardless of if it was reparied or not, I didn't want them to have it for a moment longer for fear of *****ulent activity. While I waited to be seen, I called the store on another phone to see why the phone wasn't being answered. The telephone is on silent and reception chooses which calls to answer! I watched her ignore the red flashing light on the telephone, indicating that a call was coming through, and heard my phone go to voicemail twice. She answered the third time I called.

It turns out my phone was repaired on the 3rd day when Samsung sent the parts, and they were waiting for Samsung to approve their invoice and pay for the parts before I got my phone back. As if their internal affairs had anything to do with me. I can't imagine how long they'd have made me wait until they called me to collect if I didn't forcefully collect my phone that day.

I checked my phone, and maintenance mode was disabled, and all my personal information (my photos, my apps etc) were all accessible to them to go through. When I asked about it, they said it needed to be done for the update to take place, which I have gotten a second opinion on by another technician, and is utter bull****. I opened my YouTube music app, and found that the last song played was an Amapiano track in a playlist of amapiano, which was searched for on my phone. I don't listen to amapiano. The "sound of goshen" stands out in my search history like a sore thumb! There are two devices that were paired to my phone which are not mine. Gary and Trevlin, you should be fired for using a customers phone this way! I cannot describe how violated I feel knowing that they were going through my phone, and if YouTube music was opened, who's to say they didn't try to open my banking app and went through my gallery and possibly sending information from my device to their own.

I was assured that my privacy was of the utmost importance and that maintenance mode was sufficient, which turned out to be another lie. The manager had no clue this was going on, and failed to do his job of "managing" his staff and upholding standard of service. When I spoke to Tia Simon in person at the store, her face was expressionless and disinterested. She appeared to be on the verge of falling asleep the entire time.

My phone seems to be fixed, though, but I hope I never have to go back there.
