A friend of mine and I decided to have some dinner at our usual bar/small restaurant last night and the waitress saw us and very nicely said to us to hang on as she was coming to us, she was just busy. No problem yet and I found her honesty with no quibble. Fast forward to her taking our orders. My friend ordered a thick base cheese and tomato pizza and a extra topping of salami. I heard him say thick base. The waitress repeated the order then left. His order came and so did my order. He was peeved about his order. A while later she came back and I said to her why did my friend order a thick base and this is what he gets? She knew she hadn't made sure that what came out of the kitchen was correct. She then said would we like to void the pizza? This was done and the pizza was taken away and off the bill. Needless to say that although my food was correct it was cold. Heated food would have been a nice touch. Eating establishments these days sometime don't care about the food that is ordered, so long as they get the money at the end of the day. By the way the waitress also had the cheek to tell us that the kitchen was busy. I am not in the food business but it seems obvious that waiters/waitresses should not inform customers whether it be new ones or old ones know about what goes on in the kitchen. It is none of their business. Managers should keep a eye on their staff to make sure they are kept in line. My friend and I will vote with our wallets and simply not go there again. Just a typical food establishment who is getting bad.
