YOUR SILENCE IS OUR SIGNAL!

When taking up insurance you always want to make sure that you have all your basis covered. and that should something happen to you, you would like to have the peace of mind of knowing that someone will be there when you need help.

YOUR SILENCE IS OUR SIGNAL says Miway! ( or something to that extent) What lies or rather false advertising? I don't know, all I know is that ,that same slogan never came to my rescue. This motto and or slogan was all over billboard's in Johannesburg where they even advertised on TV saying when you're involved in a car accident they don't have to be contacted they will know buy your silence that something is wrong. Being a Miway Policy holder I thought that this was the case, which turned out not to be.

I have never been so disappointed in my whole in tire life that I can confidently take up insurance protecting myself from unforeseen dangers of Johannesburg. Only to discover that is not the case.

I was recently in a car accident which came unexpectedly which I think every accident is. It was a collision that occurred because of reckless driving from a taxi driver who parked on the shoulder of the highway. Which caused the vehicle behind it to stop on impact. I too followed the vehicle of which ,the vehicle behind bumped me as she could not control her breaks. Needless to say my vehicle jerked forward and hit the car in front of me. You can imagine the state of shock I was in ,never had I been involved in a car accident. The impact and the force that came from the vehicle behind caused that I jerked forward almost hitting the steering wheel, which fortunately I was held back by my safety belt. The impact was so great that the back of my neck hit the head rest onto the back seat. I was shaken up,suffured from loss of breath and my neck had serious impact from the crash.

This is where one would assume Miway would come to my rescue, they didn't. No one contacted me. The slogan your silence is our signal played in my head over and over thinking someone will come out and assist me as I was struggling to breath or move myself from the position I was in. I recall the motorists coming and asking me if I am ok.

In that split minuet that I was trying to make sense of what had just happened, being unable to breath and move Altech Netstar came to my rescue. The phone rang through my bluetooth allowing me to answer the call from the steering wheel. They contacted me when I did not expect them saying they have received an impact alert from my car and that is the car safe. The lady could hear from my breathing that something wrong. All I could make out was that iv just been involved in an accident . She immediately dispatched medical assistance which moments later an ambulance came and the paramedics came out and talking me through what I should and shouldn't do. Jonnica one of the paramedic held my head whilst I was being put on a stretcher. My father contacted Miway to inform of the accident minuets after. I was rushed to Arwp Hospital and nothing from Miway. Car rental arrangements were made by my father and Miway promising heaven on earth which nothing they had promised was delivered , needless to say no assistance came from them.

Not even once!
