Worst Claim Experience

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the service I received during a recent claim assessment. I am deeply dissatisfied with how the process was handled and feel that the treatment I received was unfair, disrespectful, and unprofessional.

From the beginning, it seemed the assessor had already decided to decline my claim. He was intimidating and attempted to impose a version of events that was not true. He stated that unnamed “witnesses” claimed the driver was a short individual and not me. One of these individuals even began speaking to me, but when I engaged with them, the assessor aggressively questioned me, leaving me feeling disrespected and undermined.

Additionally, he demanded access to my mobile phone to check my call records. I explained that I did not have my phone on me at the time as I was hosting the Provincial Municipality Games and had left it at the venue.

He then pressured me to admit that I had been drinking, which I firmly denied. I do not consume alcohol and have never done so in my life. Regardless of my explanations, the assessor stated that my claim would be rejected and that I would be held responsible for paying for the courtesy car.

Despite this verbal rejection, I received a call from the towing company yesterday stating they were collecting the vehicle for repairs. Given the nature of my job, I rely on my car daily, and I could not afford to wait while being unsure of the claim status. As such, I have begun making arrangements to repair the car myself.

Furthermore, this experience has come at a time of significant emotional distress, as I am currently grieving the loss of my brother-in-law, who was recently found in the river. This added stress has been deeply overwhelming.

I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed urgently and thoroughly. I would also appreciate a written response outlining the reasons for the decision and clarifying the next steps, including the status of the courtesy vehicle and whether I am liable for any associated costs.
