Wax on wax off.
This right here is for people to read and educate themselves from my new findings but also about Miway as a brand. Up until my last claim I was a complete ambassador for the brand as they always left me impressed and ticked all the boxes. It has changed completely and not because of the claim didnt go my way, but because of the way I was handed and treated after all these years as a client. First things first: Credit shortfall policy: It is sold to you by them telling you that in the event that your car is written off or ****** they will settle what you are owing to the bank. Not true, they only settle the value of the vehicle itself. All of your extras that are not insured dont get paid, finance fees dont get paid, maintenance plan etc. So be aware that you will still have to pay in.
The finalising of my claim: My car got written off. Of which an excess of R4500 is due as per my contract with them. Then they charge me an "additional excess": because I was in the process of a claim to fix my tailgate before i had the major accident. In my contract, additional excesses are specified in the T's & C's and neither reasons are valid in this instance. However miway has charged me 8500 additional excess for the tailgate.
The cherry on top was that I specifically asked for a detailed summary and detailed reasons why the breakdown was as it was, in black and white and I got a "snip" of the agents work and nothing else. They tried to call me yesterday but i didnt answer as i was man down in bed, I have not been well from the accident. So they just took it apon themselves to go ahead and finalise the claim without having spoken to me. I get smses and emails telling me my cover has changed and thanks for the continuous support, theyll keep me on personal accident policy until i get a new vehicles to insure with them... which has honestly just changed miway completely for me... unhuman and out to get themselves.
Best regards,
