Waiting in vain for my car
I took my car for repairs to Renew-IT Bedfordview on 2 August 2023. I was informed that an estimation for the work to be completed is 15 working days. Today is the 16 October 2023 my vehicle has still not been completed. I have requested a courtesy car on 23 August 2023 until it expires on 21 September 2023. During my interaction with the car repairer, they informed me that at the beginning there was a delay by Miway approving the additional work to be undertaken and starting placing an order for replacement parts which resulted in a loss of 2 weeks of work scheduled to be undertaken. My completion date for repairs has been shifted four times and the new completion date is now 27 October 2023. Today marks 52 normal working days since my car has been sent for repairs. The repairer informed me that they were struggling to find the rear bumper for my vehicle which I did find it hard to believe. My car is a 2011 VW T5 Kombi. With all being said one would wonder how one commute to work every day with a UBER and spends almost R300 per day for a 24 km round-trip to and from work under these economic tough times and yet continues to pay for insurance with a smile, so much for "everything is done your way". I even went to the extent of demanding my car back and considering fixing it myself after the horrible waiting period due to someone not doing their work. Furthermore, I felt like Miway was not doing well enough to protect its subscribers. To date, I'm still counting my financial losses due to the bad service I have experienced
