Vehicle Repairs

On the 30th of September 2020, I had an accident whereby I was hit from behind at a traffic light intersection whilst waiting for the traffic light to turn green (Secunda). The lady apologised and we exchanged details and went to the police station to report the accident. My tracking company contacted me whilst I was at the police station (after they had sent an sms) to find out if I was okay as they had detected an impact on the vehicle. They then transferred me to my insurance (Miway). I was advised to call the following day to report the accident. I called on the 1st of October to report the accident and I was duly assisted. I was advised to take the vehicle for inspection at Sectri Auto Body which I did the same day. On Monday the 5th of October, Miway informed me that it was not economical to repair my vehicle as the assessment was R14595.49. I was informed that my vehicle would be written off, yet Miway had evaluated my car at R67850.00. I just do not understand how they are writing my vehicle off when the value of repairing it is less than 1/3 of the evaluated amount. At first I was informed that they will only pay approximately R4000 if I wanted to keep the vehicle. When I disputed that amount, I was later informed that I will be paid approximately R8000. The case number is ***. What I am not satisfied with, is how Miway is treating the matter (my vehicle does not have the damages as stipulated in the report), however they want to write off my vehicle when the repair amount is far less than what my vehicle is worth
