Unfiltered Truth Of Lies

I have had a policy since March 2019 to date, included in my policy is movable personal contents with maximum claimable value of R5000.00 Recently put in a claim and learnt I wasn't covered because nothing was specified in my policy - this is the confusion, there wasn't a need to specific as per telephonic discussion. If things have changed over the years, why wasn't this noted in the yearly renewal letter????
