Unfair practise

I was quoted on a new car/household policy and accepted. I was very happy with the quote and I was ready to leave my current insurer. During the underwriting questions (which are fired off at a rapid rate), I remembered I hadn't disclosed an attempted break in on my vehicle, at a shopping centre (drivers door lock was damaged), which due to the low cost of repair, I had decided to cover at my cost i.e. no claim - In other words no claim submitted to my current insurer. I am told by MiWay, because it is an 'incident', my quote will be escalated. To get the price back to the original quote, they offered a higher excess or waiver of the joining fee. I think this is highly *********.
