Unfair Claim Rejection and Lack of Transparency - Avoid MiWay
I’ve been a MiWay policyholder (***) for some time, but my recent experience with *** has been nothing short of disappointing and frustrating. After a car accident, my claim was rejected via a vague phone call citing "overspeeding at 160 km/h" based on the vehicle's computer box data. When I requested written reasons and evidence, they sent a closure letter on December 1, 2025, simply stating "failure to take reasonable care and precaution" without any specifics, data extracts, or proof to back it up. This inconsistency and lack of transparency makes it impossible to properly dispute the decision.
Despite the rejection, they continued debiting my account for premiums, adding insult to injury. Their policy wording requires us to prevent loss, but without sharing the evidence they claim to have, how can I even verify or challenge this? I’ve had to escalate to their internal disputes team, but based on this handling, I have little faith in a fair outcome. It feels like they’re just looking for excuses to avoid paying out.
Even at this moment I have not received anything in writing regarding where my car is and what happened to it if they're citing data from the computer box I do not know if it has been taken or returned or what else has been removed from the car. I have 23 years driving and worked as a professional driver for years this is the first I've seen an investigation being concluded by the investigator and judged at the same time without giving the other party an opportunity to look at the findings before concluding the case.
After paying my premiums without issues, this has shattered my trust. I’m now advising you to switch providers and advise others to think twice before choosing MiWay – read the fine print and prepare for potential battles over claims. If you value clear communication and accountability, look elsewhere.
