Total Disregard for their clients and will find every and any excuse to reject your claim

I am here again about Miway Insurance. An insurance company that I have been a client of for over 5 years and have only had 1 claim in this time. My first claim was in December of 2018 for a TV due to lighting damage and even then I found myself on "Hello Peter" after they gave me the run around and tried to cheat me by paying a lower replacement value than what the TV was actually worth. No integrity at all in how they conduct their business. Anyway, I won that battle after a great fight and I was eventually able to have the TV replaced at the correct value.

Fast forward 4 years later, that same replacement TV is now giving me problems. Last week we switched on the TV and we had audio but no visual. I called to log a claim, their service provider picked up the TV and did the assessment. After the assessment was done, Andre from Miway called to inform me of the results of the assessment. First he said that it was definitely due to power surge. A statement which I refuted as I have had no interruptions in my power supply as I don't even get loadshedding in my area. He then went on to say that they also found that there is a factory fault with the TV as some "ribbon" was not installed by the manufacturer. He then proceeded to tell me that there is nothing that they can do about it and that they will be rejecting my claim. They basically washed their hands off and told me that it's not their problem and that they will not entertain this claim as there is nothing that they can do. Now please keep in mind that this is a replacement TV for a claim that I put through with them as my insurer 4 year ago. It's 4 years later and that TV is no longer under warranty. So if it's a replacement TV that they paid for as part of my claim and we have now discovered that there is a factory fault with it; How is this not their problem? Secondly, I am also not certain now about the true reason for this damage because initially I was told that it's as a result of power surge, when I refuted that finding, I was then told of a factory fault. So which is which? And how is it not both their problem given that this is a replacement TV that they paid for from a previous claim?

Miway Insurance, This is an insurance company that I have been with for over 5 years with premiums paid in full and on time every month but each time I put in a claim it's a hassle. They look for any and every cop-out that they can find not to approve claims.

After presenting my case and plea on the phone with Andre, trying to reason with him, it all fell on deaf ears. It was just that, they are washing their hands off this and if I have a problem, I will have to go through a dispute process. Again they are making me jump through hoops for something that I am well covered for according to my policy. If it's due to power surge, I am covered for that, if it's a factory fault, it's a factory fault on their replacement TV that I got 4 years ago. But no, it's not their problem as usual with Miway. I am now sitting at home with no TV and no resolution or answer as to why they are refusing to process a claim that I am well covered for.
