Third Party ***

On 31/08/2017 at 19:45, I went to the Engine petrol station on Lenchen avenue in Centurion for some petrol. My mom flew from George for my aunts funeral and I decided to take her out for dinner. As I drove into the petrol station, I stopped when I noticed a vehicle (that was parked in the Kiosk parking area, against a slop) start coming backwards. At first I didn't realize there was no one in the car and hooted for the vehicle to stop before impacting my vehicle. I had been stationary at the time. By the time I realized there was no one in the other car and the car picked up a bit of speed, I panicked and couldn't get my car into reverse on time to get out of the way. The Miway client's vehicle rolled back into mine due to her not having pulled up the handbrake.

I was 100% not at fault. Documents were requested from me, I cooperated. After about a month, an assessor finally came to assess my vehicle's damage. I was advised I would hear from Miway the following day. It has been 3, almost 4 weeks without a word. I had to email Miway to get an answer as the person handling my third party claim is always unavailable when I call. The response I receive is management is reviewing my claim.

The call centre agents in the liabilities department were extremely rude every time I called. The assessor tried pushing me into claiming from my own insurance company, why should I pay excess for something that was 100% not my fault for? I had just recently found out I was pregnant at the time and I refuse to pay for someone else's neglect! I had provided Miway with 2 quotes as requested by die Miway Liabilities team and the assessor brushed it off stating the damage wouldn't cost that must. Did the assessor remove my bumper and check for a crack on the inside? NO, so how do you know if there's damage on the inside and the bumper doesn't need replacing?

As a claims advisor myself for an international company that strives for awesome service to their clients. I'm disgusted at the level of service Miway has to offer. I had done quotes before and even considered moving to Miway, but after seeing how Miway to only handles their clients but also handles third party claims I will never in my life become a Miway client.
