I am very dissatisfied with Miway Insurance.

I signed up with Miway the moment I bought the car. I was involved in the accident on 26 November 2018.

The claimed was cancelled on 21/12/2018.

Their conclusion to decline my claim was based on the false presentation and speculations.

Miway Claim Assessor Chirstiaan Van Der Westhuizen was responsible with my claim. During the process of investigation, before they came to the conclusion. During our discussion at 09:43 am 19/12/2018, Christiaan threatened to cancel my claim if wants too. I’ve asked him that he will cancel it base on which grounds? He couldn’t response. It seems like he was exercising his authority. I have escalated issue with complaints department and Line Manage Faizel Erentzen. He failed to consider my complaints. In the way that I was the one who was supposed to follow up with the Faizel our appointment that was supposed to between 11:00 – 12:00. Faizel didn’t have decency to call me. I was the one who called at 13:00 to follow up regarding our discussion. I requested faizel has to address Chirstiaan and send me the proof he disciplined regarding his threats.

Worse part, when I ask for the feed for the feedback from Chirstiaan and told me that he was busy with 7 claims. Like I was less than those clients. Miway don’t respect their customer.

Below false presentation was raised by Miway Assessor on our phone conversation @ 09:43 am, 19/12/2018

• On our phone conversation between me and Chirstiaan, he mentioned that I was at Coconut. Which it was false presentation due to that I gave him the bank statement and tracker Logtrip that confirmed the location that I was at Reggy. I’ve requested for the proof that I was at Coconut. He couldn’t provide the proof. I even asked him to check the video footage to confirm the location and he told me that the footage clears every after 5 days. Still my claim was decline due to disloyalty without the proof. I have reported the incident on 26/11/2018. Chirstiaan was aware of that the video footage clear every after 5 days. The fact that he delay to come to Rustenburg. It was not my responsibility to force him to come to Rustenburg . It was unacceptable to inform me that he can’t view the video footage due to that the data clears every after 5 days. It is not my responsible . • He informed me that the claim was declined due to disloyalty, based on that I was with 3 people inside the car. Which is false presentation. I informed Chirstiaan that I was the only person inside the car. Miway decided to conclude based on what they told by towing guys that it was 4 of us inside. Which is still surprise me, because the towing guys arrived after the accident. When the towing guys arrived the were numbers of peoples. Still Chirstiaan failed to provide the proof. The conclusion was based on assumption and false presentation

• Chirstiaan mentioned that I was intoxicated. I’ve told him serval times that alcohol was not involved. There was police in the scene, if I was drunk, police was supposed to notice that I was intoxicated and diagnose alcohol test. The fact that there was no blood test require, it confirms that alcohol was not involved. Miway decided to listen to towing guys which they arrived after the scene.Which I made it clear that alcohol was not involved. Miway decided to cancel my claim base on the assumptions that I was intoxicated. Which was no alcohol test was performed. The conclusion was based on the false accusation. In future I will recommend that Miway should equip the Towing guys with breathalyse. So they will be able to do alcohol test before they tow the car and before starting to present false assumptions. Please note that to all this false accusation, the was no alcohol was found inside the car.

• The claim was cancel based on that I was driving on the 60 zone with 118 kph. It is not the main factor, the car that I bump into stopped in middle of the road, the was no stop sign or traffic robots and the was another car on the left lane. I was on the right lane. So I couldn’t swift my on the left lane due to that to that I will hit the left lane car. Only option is to try to hit breaks and tried to avoid the car.Even if I drove in 60 – 70 kphs I will bump into the car because the car stopped in the middle of the road without the hazards or signal.

All above point it was false allegations. I have tried to address the issue with my Miway and they didn’t take me serious.

What I don’t like the most about this, Miway agent didn’t have guards to inform that my claim was declined. I have released the moment Car Storage called me offering to buy my car and that I have to come and collect it. I have tried to called Chirstiaan and Faizel on the Miway Landline no one was available. I sent email requesting for the conclusion and no response. I’ve end up calling Chirstiaan on his Cellphone.
