Terrible service to match terrible claim processing!

I was involved in an accident on the 23rd April 2016. Initially I was told my car was to be towed to Richards Bay but it ended up in Phongola. I spoke to consultants from MiWay and trusted that the process had been started on their end. 3 weeks later I had not heard anything as yet and decided to call in myself to check on the progress of the claim; to be told that nothing had been actioned, the claim was half-processed if I can even call it that and to top it all off, they couldn’t tell me the location of my car – after being towed by a provider of YOUR choice.

Eventually on the 14th May I received word that the claim was in processing. On the 2nd June I received confirmation of the claim being finalised and approved. I was subsequently contacted by the assessor Bonga after this, who to be honest, is the only person in this entire process thus far that has been knowledgeable and helpful. He also informed me to expect a call on either Friday 3rd June or Monday 6th June. On Friday I received an SMS from Tracker informing me that my battery had been removed – which led me to think that this was done because it was to be towed back to Durban.

On Monday 6th June, my mother went to Technostar to check on the car and to see that it arrived safely to be told that the car was not there. I then called and was told that my car was not moved because of protest action and it would be moved the next day. On Wednesday 8th June I called again, my car was still not in Durban. I called yet AGAIN on Friday 10th June and my car was still not in Durban.

This afternoon (Monday 13th June) my mother went yet again to Technostar to check on my car and big surprise, my car was not there. Instead she was given a letter stating that authorisation for repairs were cancelled with immediate effect. I found this pecu**** and called Technostar to ask where my car is, they gave me the same story that my car could not be moved because of protest action, and that they will tow it tomorrow and I will receive a call. AGAIN I’m the one having to run around calling people to ask where my car is! Worst of all, I’m dealing with different stories from the same company, WHAT IS GOING ON?!?

As it stands, I am more than disappointed, frustrated and frankly not understanding the point of paying for a service that cannot be done effectively and efficiently. No one is communicating with me - I have no answers, I’m not being met halfway at all and feel that no one is interested in assisting me and getting the process going. Because of this delay, I’m incurring extra costs because I now have to extend my car hire for a longer period and have no idea what the time frame looks like. As a company you never fail to collect your monies on time but when it’s time to do the job we pay you to do - we are met with nothing but an uphill battle. Someone fix this – I simply cannot carry on running around like a headless chicken with no aid in what direction to go!

We need to unconditionally apologise for the delays you experienced!

Mark has since called to discuss your concerns with you in more detail and to let you know that towing arrangements were made to get your car moved to our service provider.

We urge you to give us a call if you need help with anything else in the interim!

Kind regards,

The MiWay Team
