STAY AWAY FROM MIWAY
So I was involved in accident on March 15 2021. I was hit by a car and the impact was so great that the car was pushed to hit the car in front of me. On 17 March I got an email that my car was written off and the person assigned to my case told me that my car would be settled by the end of the week of 19th. At first they didn't want to cover my shortfall even though I took out shortfall cover. I fought and evebtually they agreed to pay some of the shortfall amount. The remainder of what they were not going to pay was gonna be covered by the dealership where I'm planning to get a car as part of dealership assistance. I have a good deal and MiWay is dragging it's feet to pay out the car and I might lose this deal.
Last week Wednesday I was informed the car was settled. When I called on Thursday to ask for the proof of payment, I was informed the car wasn't settled because they were waiting for the updated settlement letter.
Later that day they called me telling me they wanted to ask me a few questions as part of the validation process. To cut this long story short, they are trying to use the fact that I didn't inform them that I had gone back to work on a rotational basis as reason to not pay out the claim, mind you there isn't anything in the policy exclusions listing this as an exclusion. When I took out the claim I was working from home full time. But I did inform them that under ordinary circumstances I work at tge office. Yesterday their legal department called and told me they are starting the process to recover their money from the 3rd party. YES! They are claiming money they haven't yet paid to my financier.
The amount of emotional trauma I'm enduring is immeasurable. Whatever you do guys, stay away from this insurance company. It's the absolute WORST!!! But I'm taking them to court:)
