South African backyard ****** with great branding, be carefull!

I bought a new vehicle, a pretty exciting experience. Obviously you want it to be covered living in South Africa.. I though with all the marketing Miway was a leader, only to find a company with a hidden agenda to take your money and NOT cover you, no peace of mind is offered here..

When I bought the vehicle, I was advised that its is better to install the tracker on your name rather buy one from your insurance. Miway tried every trick in the book to get me to take the tracker from them. They will even tell you that it must be one of their approved trackers. Could we it be because some tracker companies offer up to R150k if the vehicle is not found, could it be because miway has all your drining history to use against you in case of a claim?

Anyways... I was advised that I must provide them with an installation certificate of the tracker otherwise I wont be coveeed for theft and hijack.. I did that. For almost a week no one contacted me, so I sent an email to confirm the outcome, since according to me I have risk exposure without the insurance company taking any leed in resolving. I was then contacted by Lesedi who advised that my tracker company will contact me to approve miway as the insurer. This couldnt be further from the truth.. Tracker contacted me, advising me Miway wants access to the information from my tracker.

Throughout my communication I advised that this information is private, for good reason to.

However, in a very sneaky manner this insurance company has tried everything to be unjust and everything from what anyone wanting decent insurance on their valuables would want from their insurer.

The day I took collection of the vehicle, I lost the spare key. Today I called Miway to put in a claim. They want FULL access.

I will NEVER do business with you again Miway, in my opinion, you are the *****ed backyard company, no matter how good your branding. Wake up South Africa, there are way better insurers out there. Dont settle for this, I certainly didnt. Cancelled this within 6days, record for me.
