shocked about MiWay's horrible claim process
I am very dissapointed with MiWay's way of doing things. i recently joined Miway because i heard they were brilliant and their premiums are awesome(which is true) they were very friendly when they called me explained the cover to me. i was happy and joined them. after about 5 to 6 months of cover i had a small incident at my home. i notified MiWay and they sent a assessor out to my place. i was claiming for jewellery that was ****** but according to the assessor, the jewellery was valued at R26 000 and according to MiWay, any jewellery to the value of more than R10 000 should be kept in a safe, so my claim was rejected which i understood and didn't dispute. On the 19 July 2019 i put in a claim for my vehicle windscreen and Miway worked swiftly and assisted with a new windscreen fitted for me by PG AutoGlass and i was highly impress and satisfied with MiWay until i received an email from MiWay stating that my claims are to much and if another claim has to be made it could result in cancellation of my policy or increase of my premium. i was then furious because to my knowledge i only was paid for one claim so i called MiWay and explained my situation and this was when i had the biggest shock my life when the agent said to me they have paid out R8000 for my first claim regarding the jewellery incident so i mentioned to the agent that i was not paid out for that claim as it was rejected. i was the put through another person in claims dept and the then said to me " THE FACT THAT YOU CLAIMED, AND AN ASSESSOR WAS SEND OUT, WE HAD TO PAY THE ASSESSOR R8000" so i didn't get paid out for my claim from the soo ever wonderful MiWay insurance but they paid an assessor R8000 from my claim, how the hell does that make sense? i never heard of any insurance company that does that furthermore MiWay agents will never say these things when they want to give you cover and take our money so Miway actually gives false information. is this why they premiums are cheaper because they take the cheap way out? well i am completely disappointed and very upset and to top it all, after explaining all this to the agent he says to me they will get someone to call me back ASAP and this was on the 25th July 2019 and still no one has gotten back to me. keep in mind MiWay debit order was the first one to go off. so all you people that have Miway insurance should be very careful with them, i have informed numerous family members about the great MiWay and they all changed to MiWay, well unfortunately they all will cancel just like how i want to cancel as well.
