scratch and dents policy

I've put in place a scratch and dents policy with miway. Before proceeding with obtaining quotes from the panel beaters. I called miway to enquire about the cover and if I qualify to take the car in. They advised me to proceed as everything is in place. Just when I was about to take the car to the panel beaters to fix the scratches, they told me that they cant pay for the amount anymore as their policy states that scratches that have a certain metres are not covered. This was concerning, because the panel beaters had send them a quote which they initially accepted, and then they decided to decline it after wards. Miway has had a bad reputation for repudiating claims. I cant believe that they even repudiate small dent claims.
