Ridiculous rates following claim for windscreen!!

I don’t normally like writing negative reviews but thought I would add this to warn people. I was paying a very fair rate for my existing vehicle with MiWay, and was very happy with their service when I needed glass replacement and roadside assistance. However, when I tried to insure a second vehicle with them, their quote to me was outrageous and borderline insulting. This quote was over R4600 per month for a car (VW Caddy) with a retail value of R250 000. They explained that it was because of the previous claims I made. The only claims I made from them in the year and a half I was with them were for a cracked windscreen replacement and for roadside assistance. Long story short, it seems these guys are good until you claim, even if you claim for the tiniest of things, you will be in trouble for insuring your assets in the future, so be careful!
