Refusing to cancel my policy and refund the remainder days, i paid.

I cannot believe the traumatic experience i have received from the Miway retention's staff today, i am taking delivery of a new car today and need Miway to cancel my policy with immediate effect and refund me the pro-rata amount of days that I would not require cover for and it seems like i am speaking to people who are unbelievably inconsiderate on a level i have never seen before. Miway clearly has no consideration or empathy towards me as a client, and rather choose to completely inconvenience me, just to make a quick buck. I am really disgusted that another human being could act in such a manner. I did phone the FSB for advise regarding the matter and i was advised that according to the FAIS Act, which protects me as a consumer, I am allowed to cancel my short-term policy at any time if necessary, and I "may" also give them 30 days notice. The FSB also advised me that Miway is obligated to refund me the pro-rata due to me, for the days I do not need cover... In spite of the FAIS laws protecting consumers, Miway still refused to assist me. I have paid every premium on time and have never claimed from the insurance... All i want is for them to cancel my insurance immediately due to me getting a new vehicle today which they cannot insure at an affordable rate. Why does this have to be such a horrifying experience on what was supposed to be a good day?
