R410 difference...... wait what!

I purchased a vehicle last month, but before I could take possession of the vehicle I needed insurance, a wonderful insurance broker assisted me in getting quotes, one of which was from miway. They quoted me R850.00 per month. I decided on another company. So I got a call from miway this week offering to get me a better rate if I move insurance. I was curious to see how much difference and answered all the questions exactly the same as the previous time. Imagine my surprise when this time I was quoted R440.00 (That's R410.00 difference) Naturally I asked why it is such a huge difference and was informed that it is always this high when a vehicle is still on the show room floor!!!! Wait what? I would think a car is safer on the show room floor so shouldn't it then be less? So my question is, should I have taken insurance with miway, would my premiums have been reduced once the vehicle was no longer on the show room floor, or would they have happily left me on the R850.00 show room package? Why did they not tell me on first contact that I must drive the car off the show room floor before getting quotes?

I suggest anyone who buys a car and needs insurance, make sure the car is in your possession to get the best insurance quotes in future!!!!
