Poor Service from My insurance company.

I have been with Miway insurance since I first purchased my first car in April 2016 and I have had no issues until I have had to make a claim for a vehicle accident I had on the 6th of July 2016 whilst on vacation in Mpumalanga.

Making the claim was easy or so I thought. It took the insurer more than 4 hours to send a tow truck and it took my sister having to call them to tell them off before they even enquired about how it I was going to get myself home or to a place of safety once the car was towed, as we were in the middle of nowhere in a foreign province to us. They told me about a Reimbursent of R500 which would go to either petrol if i were being picked up or accommodation for the night and all i would have to do is send them copies of my receipt. when i did, the claim handler told me that there was no such service. During this whole ordeal I find myself in a position where I have been having to contact Miway for Feedback constantly, I have been without a vehicle now since the 6th of July as its sitting at a panel beater in Nelspruit. I have received calls from the Panel Beater known as Criss cross panel beaters not to give feedback but to tell me of issues with regards to the repairs of my vehicle, saying that there are extras that i would have to pay for that they feel the insurer will not cover even though these things are meant to be listed as under the repairs/replacement of the accident. I have felt harassed to a degree as they have been notifying me about things like the brakes of my vehicle which during the time of purchase three months before the incident have had no issues and if they needed replacement would’ve been done during the service of the car, which would’ve taken place after 4700km.

I have had to make continuous calls through to Miway for the past 3 months to get feedback as to when I will be receiving my car, They haven’t made any effort to contact me or push so that I receive my vehicle, I call as they don’t take time to respond to my e-mails. I've also had my brokers call them numerous times and the communication between the panel beaters has also been an utter frustration. required documents aren't sent within requested time as well delays on the repairs my car. I am highly frustrated at the service I have received from Miway and do this as even my work is affected as I struggle to travel to and from work. As i live and work in Port Shepstone it has been difficult for me to physically check up on the condition and progress of my car.

I don’t believe it takes 3 Months for a vehicle to get repaired especially as I have been paying my premiums- which were promptly increased without delay and have been deducted efficiently every month.

It is even more frustrating to be paying for a vehicle that is not within my possession. My fear is that even if i receive my car, it'll have cost me more time and money than anticipated and that my car will not be repaired to its fullest and of highest quality. I fear that my car's parts may be replaced with cheaper parts and that certain aspects of my car will be missing. I've heard things like these happen in these cases, where cars are delayed in repairs.

My Miway claim Number is C75014
