Poor customer service by Miway

Please note that I am using my Miway Insurance for my car and home contents as well as my property. I have been with Miway since 2011 very loyal and trusted client, never got involved in an accident. September is my anniversary with Miway and time for them to increase my premium like other insurance companies do.

Every time Miway intends to increase my premium they send an email and call me so that we can discuss the increase as a loyal customer and they have indicated the premium is done Miway as their slogan, this year 2024 that was not case, instead I just noticed a debit order with increased amount went off on my account on the 15 September 2024. I used to pay R2051 and they decided to increase to R3081 an increase of R1000 which has never happened since I joined them, even when I asked friends and colleagues the increase the experience with their insurance no way that the increase could be 50%. I think Miway took advantage of my loyalty to them hence they effected unreasonable and irrational increase on my premium.

I phoned to dispute the increase and the Retaining Specialist agreed to revised my premium to R 2243 with effect from October 2024 and he agreed that the increase was too much and as a loyal client at least a reasonable increase should have been effected.

When I request to be refunded they said I cant be assisted, i feel cheated and betrayed by the company I have been so loyal to them.

I am humbly requesting assistance from you to engage Miway to refund me the difference of almost R850 that was deducted as the increase that was not discussed neither agreed by me.

Please inform them that should I not receive my refund of the difference, I see no reason why I should continue with them as my insurance company.

The money I should have paid for school fees of kids and I did not, thanks to Miway with their ridiculous increase.

Your assistance will be highly appreciated.
