Poor customer service

On 25 June 2018 at 20:00 on Ondekkers Road;my car Citroen C1 was involved in an incident where the front right wheel was damaged. Subsequently the tyre burst; a spare wheel was inserted but the car was not driving smoothly and funny noises were heard from the affected wheel. I called Mihelp for road side assistance and to have the car towed to my house. The Miway consultant informed that since the car is not driving smoothly, he is going to log an accident claim. The car was towed to Nu-Wagon Autobody. I then proceeded to submit the claim.

My daughter was the authorised driver at the time of the incident was harassed and repeatedly phoned at work despite having stated clearly what had happened on the submitted claim. On 28/06/2018 I received a call from Molebogeng Ledwaba a Miway consultant asking if the car was still owing and I told her it was paid in full. Later I received an email from Miway stating that my car was a write off. I was shocked because the damage to the car was not extensive. I then called and was told that I'll be given R26 000. I opted to get back the car and was offered R4000; 00. At this point, I then decided to withdraw the claim because I felt **********. I collected my car and paid R1300, 00 to replace the damaged rim of the spare wheel and the burst tyre.

My car is now driving very well. What annoys me most is that after they refused to fix my car and I stated that I am terminating my policy they called me offering me R8 000; 00 they further **** that I had insured the car at retail value. They also discredited me to the other insurer by inflating the price of the repair work done on my other vehicle in 2015 and now I'm missing out on the attractive benefits Alexander Forbes is offering on their Plus 55 package . The worst part is that they have removed the Citroen from the cover from 01/07/18 but only informed me on the 20th July 2018 that my it is not covered.

Notwithstanding this the premium has gone up, the Citroen is not covered and no claim has been paid by my way.

To add to the misery, MiWay has informed me of its plan to deduct premium at the end of July because I didn't put in a 30 days notice to terminate the policy. Interestingly, MiWay decided to arbitrarily remove the Citroen C1 from my cover without giving me any 30 days notice. They completely ignore the fact that they pushed me to the decision to terminate my insurance cover with them. I wrote a complaint letter but they ignore to address the issues stated instead they get their retention consultants to contact me and we cannot conclude anything since I'm getting no joy and have made up my mind to move to another insurance.

I am abhorred by the highly *********; uncaring and unprofessional manner Miway has handled my claim; rather than alleviating the stress and the trauma after the accident/incident they aggravate the situation. Their consultants are rude and tell you what they want; clearly they are doing insurance "THEIR" way not "MY" way as they claim.

Poor customer service is synonym with MiWay!
