Pathetic service from miway and panel beater
I was involved in an accident in November 2018. The vehicle was still driveable. I went through all the correct channels to make a claim and waited for the vehicle to go in for repair. Palace panel and paint was assigned the repair and contacted me a few days after inspection was done to tell me that the claim was successful and the vehicle will be booked in shortly.
A few days had gone by and I called them to find out what was going on upon which I was told that I need to pay the excess upfront to begin the process. I asked for clarity and was contacted a month later to tell me that I had to pay first so the parts can be ordered.
I questioned this again a month later and a middle aged gent told me not to worry he will order the parts and I can pay the excess when the work was done.
Now 3 months later the car is booked in and Avis was contacted to activate my vehicle hire. The day before the booking the same middle aged gent tells me that I have to pay the excess upfront. I then had to call Avis and postpone the booking.
Its now nearing the end of march 2019 and my vehicle is still not fixed. I paid the excess as requested a few days ago and I get a call today the 18 March 2019 to tell me they are going to use alternate parts.
I don't want alternate parts as this will further drop the resale value on the car. Miways excuse for this was that because the vehicle is out of warranty they are allowed to use alternate or second hand parts.
I am so upset right now because when they started this policy my vehicle was already out of warranty and yet my premium was good enough, now when it comes their turn to cough up then we get new issues on warranty and other nonsense to avoid replacing with genuine parts... Very sad Miway.
