Pathetic Company and Service

Dear Miway,

My MVA occurred on Thursday, 04 July The Vehicle was towed by First Help to Denver Autobody at 15:44 on 04 July. The Claim was approved by Miway on Thursday, 11 July. Avis Car Hire was booked by Miway from Monday, 15 July until 25 July, with no extensions yet my car wasn't repaired. The car hire was then taken on my personal capacity from 25 July to 31 July. Thereafter Miway assured me that I will be refunded for this inconvenience as my car was not ready.

I have been driving communication with Denver Autobody and Miway since the 4th of July, with no assistance from Miway. I was notified by Gugu from Denver Autobody that my car would be ready on 31 July. Vehicle was in paint preparation on 26 July and moved to Polishing on 29 July.

Upon returning the car rental to Avis on 16 August, I arrived at Denver Autobody to see my vehicle in an appalling, pathetic condition to collect (26 working days since the claim was approved).

The supplier said I had to pay the R5 500 excess to get the car released although I was extremely disappointed with the work. I returned the car for them to repair on 19 August as the workmanship was pathetic.

I've been a client with Miway for more than 3 years, It's been 33 working days since the claim was approved, no assessor has seen the car since the accident, and if this car is not repaired to how it was originally then you can take the car back.

Miway has just confirmed that no assessor/representative is present upon final inspection of the vehicle. Miway clearly sends out vehicles that are not restored properly. Miway states that they are only obliged to follow up with the supplier and nothing else, they bear no responsibility. My vehicle was in a horrific state on the 16th of August, I was forced to use the car because there was no one available to bring me back home because Denver Autobody was closed. I still had to wait for more than an hour to be picked up from Avis. Miway can't even tell me the retail value of my car, they can only get back to me after 48 working hours!! This is pathetic
