had an approved insurance claim with miway , pleasant experience getting the claim approved , out of curiosity I engaged in a conversation with the company that will be repairing my vehicle re-newit sandton , and they brought to my attention that miway has prescribed a bumper from a non-ford supplier be used to replace my bumper because the vehicle is out of warranty , at no stage did a miway call me to find out if my car is out of warranty , they assumed because the vehicle is a 5 years old ford , it is out of warranty automatically ,they further ignored the possibility of the vehicle having an extended warranty , my issue is that I have taken my vehicle to Ford for all its repairs and services , and I am paying miway a premium for a vehicle that is still under warranty ( no miway rep has called to give me a discount when they assumed my Ford warranty expired ) but they want to use alternative and 2nd hand parts as per their call center agent to repair my vehicle .... this is just to warn the general public who might have not be aware of this practice by miway insurance company
