No Response from MIWAY

Claim No: C708369

I was hijacked and kidnapped for 8 hours and my car was recovered. After repairs I collected my car from Danmar Autobody and few days after, I called them to let them know about the noise coming from the rear left wheel. An appointment was made for the car to be assessed.

After the assessment, they told me (Fatima from Danmar) that a new claim request will be made to MIWAY since that part of the car was not fixed or quoted for during the repairs.

I kept on following up for more than a month regarding the noise from the car. On the 23rd of August she called me to tell me that MIWAY has refused to fix the damage and that I must follow up with MIWAY.

ALso, there is a part that has not been replaced and I was told (by Fatima) that an order has been made, up until now, that part is also not replaced. I also saw some damage on the front fender that was not there before the claim and is also not fixed.

I called Cecil @ MIWAY since he was handling my claim and he told me to send an email regarding my issues. I sent an email and no feedback whatsoever up to date. To top it up, my premium increased from R1362 to R1818-00 ( Increase by 34%)

MIWAY responded after 14DAYS to say that "The damages have been isolated to a shock absorber with no signs of impact damages. We have confirmed the cause being ascribed to wear and tear"

I was kept in the boot of my car for more than 7 hours. I was driven around the whole night and the Hijackers were not slowing down on the speed humps. They were speeding driving through the speed humps/bumps. On top of that, I was driven around gravel roads. I have serviced my car well and I never had any issues related to shock absorbers. Right after I received my car back from the dealer, it was making noise.

I will be taking this matter further to the Ombudsman. WHat a terrible services. No feedbacks, no update nothing.

And, these conclusions were made without assessing my car further. Just a phone call yesterday to say such.
