Nightmare Service

I was in a motorcycle accident where a car hit me on the highway towards the end of May. I put in a claim with MiWay, and my assessor was Darren Ruthman. The accident happened between Beyers Naude and Malibongwe offramp. I live in Fairland, and my bike was sent to VIS Motorcycles in Akasia (95km away) to be fixed. In my opinion (and that of the repairer) the bike should have been written off. They decided to fix the bike. That's fine.

The owner of VIS Motorcycles, Johan Visser, gave me the first delivery date of 29 July. On July 29, they found something wrong and needed the assessor to come out and approve more work to be done. They did, and the next delivery date given was 5 August. On 5 August, I was told they were still busy with assembly, but they promise I would have it by Friday 9 August (even acknowledging it was a public holiday). Thursday I called, they were still busy with it. And I was told I would have it on Monday 12 August. On Monday 12, VIS Motorcycles were ignoring my calls, so I wen't to their shop on Tuesday. They told me that they were ignoring my calls because they didn't have an update for me. They guaranteed (in writing too) that I would have the bike by Monday 19 August. They told MiWay that it would be done by Friday 16th August.

On Monday 19 August, I called to find out what time they will deliver, and what a surprise, there were more issues. No updates. No replies. They are ignoring my calls and messages.

I was on the phone with MiWay 3 times on Monday 19 August speaking to 3 different people to assist and the most they did was to send Johan an email.

In the past 3 weeks it has been absolutely impossible to get hold of Darren Ruthman, I have called probably 30 times by now.

There is no pressure from MiWay to even get this claim completed.

The bike is my primary form of transportation and uber costs over R1000 per day to get to work and back.

This has been an absolute nightmare, shocking service from both MiWay and the repair shop they sent me to, VIS Motorcycles, which is in another ****** city to me.
