Mr Tyrell Kallee Miway claims Department
Hi MiWay
I trust this comment is met with a specific perspective as a long-standing client. Over the years with midway my portfolio has grown as I have. I started out small and as my family grew and my life got more complex. to cover the most precious assists in my life, which are not belongings, they are my family. I needed to make sure that if something happens they will be secured and have a place to call home... always.
Therefore, most of the items on my policy are not mine, and therefore the risk has always been transferred to me as the owner of the policy. consequently, any claim will reflect badly on me, in terms of my risk profile, regardless. So I have never really claimed on any item that I owned.
Recently, Cape Town was hit by an unusually heavy cold front which resulted in 3 days of unprecedented volumes of rain. the result was an unexpected and sudden release of water into my house from overflowing drainage. Normally I would react immediately to remove valuables, but this occurred late in the evening and I only realized the flood the next morning.
Unfortunately, my PlayStation did not escape the water. Gaming is my one and only escape from my 3 children. I know it's bad to say this but I need to escape sometime, any parent will agree. I could not afford to replace the Damaged PS4 as diapers are expensive and I needed to prioritize my children. So I reported my loss to miway not expecting a positive response. Now at the time, I was quite depressed and emotionally drained after crying like a baby for 2 days knowing that I'd lost my one vice and now possibly reaching for the bandy. I had the pleasure to speak with a surprisingly very understanding claims assessor Mr Tyrell Kallee. He shared that he too has an escape which is to restore old vehicles. This made me feel like I'm not the only one in the world that needs a thing to do outside this crazy world. And that's where I left it, as I said not expecting a positive response. I was just reporting my loss as a policy requirement on the Miway agreement.
The next few days passed and an assessor made an expected visit to verify the water ingress and took the corps of my ps4 away to assess the damage. Then Mr Tyrell Kallee called to inform me that my claim was approved and they will replace my PS4. I was overjoyed and so grateful that I kissed the phone.
But my joy was short-lived, I could not find any PS4's available. Mr Tyrell Kallee and I searched everywhere, I spent a day in the malls and found nothing but limitations. The PS 4's which were available were extremely overpriced (some even 10k). And I say this with some certainly there were only two I could find anywhere at 9 to 10 K each. Not even at the same specification which was close to my PS 4. I found out that the PS4 was now considered obsolete and discontinued as of 2022. As the Miway payout only covered the cost to replace the PS4, valued at 5k I was sadly back where I started. I Said my goodbyes to Mr Tyrell Kallee and that was that. I was going to give the 5 k to my kids as a gift as I could not use it to replace my PS4. Suddenly, Mr Tyrell Kallee called again and informed me that he requested his manager to approve a PS5 Upgrade due to the PS4 limitations. I was over the moon with gratitude as this was a clear indication that there are miway employees that do go the extra mile and find a way to hold the company's values above all else high.
Mr Tyrell Kallee and his manager (whomever you are) I do appreciate it more than you will realize.
Best regards,
