MiWay : Vehicle at Panel Beaters Since 14 November

We were involved in an accident on 28 October 2025, after which MiWay arranged for the vehicle to be towed for an assessment. The car was leaking fluid from under the bonnet due to damage on the front-right side.

Upon receiving the assessment report, I noticed that the MiWay assessor had only evaluated the exterior damage. When I enquired why the leakage was not included in the assessment, I was informed that the panel beaters would strip and fully assess the vehicle—both internally and externally. I then approved for the vehicle to be sent to Renew-IT Rivonia for repairs.

Renew-IT Rivonia notified me that the car was ready for collection on 10 or 11 November 2025. I collected the car, paid the excess, and two days later discovered that the leak under the bonnet persisted. I immediately contacted both Renew-IT Rivonia and MiWay, and on 14 November, Renew-IT Rivonia collected the vehicle again.

The panel beaters informed me that they emailed MiWay on 17 or 18 November with their findings. These included the previously reported water leakage issue (initially communicated to Palesa, the claims consultant) as well as a new bonnet concern, as the bonnet no longer stays open when lifted. Renew-IT Rivonia also advised that they only repaired items explicitly approved in MiWay’s assessment report, which focused solely on the exterior.

As advised by the panel beaters, I followed up with MiWay during the week of 21 November, again on 3 December, and again on 5 December, via both email and telephone. During the calls, your agents confirmed they would contact the MiWay assessor and revert with feedback. However, I have still not received any update, and my emails remain unanswered.

Renew-IT Rivonia cannot proceed without MiWay’s approval, and my vehicle has been stationary at their premises since 14 November 2025. I urgently require my car, especially as I have a very small baby and rely heavily on the vehicle for daily mobility and safety.
