MiWay vehicle accident excess recovery.

I was involved in an accident in February 2023, in which the 3rd party drove into the back of my vehicle. I processed the claim through my vehicle insurer, MiWay, and provided them with all the necessary details.

I had to pay an excess amount of R6700 for my vehicle to be fixed.

I had received communication from Nanette Wessels, who is a Legal Advisor in the MiWay Recoveries department on a regular basis to inform me of their progress in contacting the 3rd party.

Months had gone by and I had given up hope of recovering the excess amount I had paid, especially after receiving an email from Nanette in April 2023, where she advised that she was unable to get hold of the 3rd party and that my claim was to be handled by the Recovery Uninsured Department moving forward and that they would be in contact with me. I never received any communication from this department.

During this time Nanette was the only one who had still kept me up to date with their attempts to get hold of the 3rd party.

In November 2023 I received an email from Nanette and Sandile ****ubye, who is also a Legal Advisor in the Recoveries department, to inform me that the 3rd party had registered a claim with their insurer and things were moving in a positive direction.

On 5th February 2024 Nanette emailed me, advising they were successful in recovering the R6700 excess from the 3rd party's insurer.

I have since received the full amount owed to me.

I'd like to thank MiWay for their efforts in recovering the excess amount on my behalf and especially to Nanette Wessels, for her constant communication with me and just keeping me updated along this recovery journey. Her service was outstanding!!!
