Miway requires trackers in almost NEW cars?????
I am not impressed. Im in the process of Switching from Santam to Miway with a brand new policy with Miway to start en of this month 30/06/2021, now im getting harrasment calls of tracker companies aswell as smses stating i must put a tracker in both my vehicles on this policy. There is no requirement of this with my current insurer aswell as outsurance where i got other quotes. I ask you to email me in writing that I dont need to put trackers in any of my two vehicles to have theft and hijack cover otherwise i will be cancelling this entire new policy. I cannot see any reason why NEW CARS should have trackers. They have factory fitted alarms and immobilisers. Kindly email me urgently otherwise i will be cancelling and stayimg with Santam where I am. I would just like to make it clear once more, im not intrested in trackers in any of my vehicles.

Kindly note if I dont have confirmation in writing that I dont need trackers in my 2018 Sportage and 2016 Toyota Fortuner by the end of this week, I will be cancelling this entire policy in this very same week and I will be staying with my current isurer Santam where no Trackers are required. I will do the self inspections on the app and proceed with Miway going forward as soon as I have confirmation that I dont need trackers in my vehicles.

07 Jun 2021, 10:46Thank you, I have received a call, I would like the whole of SA to know that Miway refuses to insure a 2018 Kia Sportage and a 2016 Fortuner full of standard security features without tracking devices. I have therefor cancelled and will be staying with Santam where no such devices are required! I Live in Knysna one of the safest towns in this whole country! This is shocking, your cancellation letter states insufficient security. I will not recommend miway to anyone after my experience they will force you signing up with trackers forcing you to pay fees upon removal of such in long term contracts.
