MiWay penalizes new customers
We got a call a Saturday and were offered a great insurance. The premium was good and we decided to take up the offer. It all sounded to good to be true... MiWay offered the service of cancelling my insurance with the current brokerage firm to ensure no double debit orders. This was a farce as no-one assisted. In fact they were rude and dropped my calls after I had to phone in. After this I wanted to cancel because I questioned their values. Teamleader ****er phoned me begging me to stay with reduced premiums and that he will be my contact. I took the cars in for inspection but got sms's afterwards telling me that I did not take my cars in. I went the extra mile and sent copies to ****er. Then after a while I phoned ****er to ask him to assist with my new trailer to be added to my profile. This went very well. Unfortunately I had a small accident on 7 March 2015. I reported the accident. No-one phoned me until 17 March telling me that I have to pay my normal excess and an additional excess of R2000 because it is a claim within 3 months. This is how you get nailed if you switch to Miway. ****er cost me R2000, All I have now is a damaged new car. I cant pay the additional excess.
We need to unconditionally apologise for any hassles you have experienced, and we assure you that this is not the MiWay way! Louanne has since called to confirm that she's received the supporting documents of your previous insurance and that the additional excess won't be charged.
Please feel free to give us a call if you need any further assistance!
Kind regards,
The MiWay Team
