MIWAY OR YOUR WAY?

I have been insured by MIWAY for just over a year. First to get my Surname changed on the policy took a few calls. So thanks the surname is changed hou about changing the surname on the debit account as well?

I signed a debit order to go off on the 1st day of every month. December 2016 they decided to deduct the premium on the 30th.

I submitted a claim on the 19th of December 2016. Since then it has been a very traumatic experience. They make you feel like the one that was to blame. You feel like the ********. Yes MIWAY you do say on your policy that you will need to "VALIDATE" any items when claiming. For me the word validate has little meanding until you request a claim payout from MIWAY then you realise just how much the word "VALIDATE" really means. You need to prove that you own the item. Which i do not have a problem with. Myself i never claim. So i am not a high risk customer. The first time i really need insurance you need to run up and down to submit documents. My question i want to have answered. When you ensure an item MIWAY is happy to insure it and collect a premium for that item. No Questions asked as to when you bought it, how much you paid for it, how you paid for it, who bought it, how long have you had it, serial number and the list goes on. Now it comes down to their turn to pay out. You now have to provide Bank Statements where you either paid for it with your debit card, or drew the cash money. Whether you drew it or not. The person who bought it as a gift now has to go and get statements from a year back. Simple as it sounds it is not. Furthermore you have to give concent to them to track the area in which your cell phone was at the time of the incident after telling them that you did not use your phone that day. You did not make calls and NO you did not run after the person who grabbed your handbag. WHY not? WHAT did you do when the incident took place? DID you do anything? NO I DID NOT DO ANYTHING EXCEPT SCREAM - no because i did not want to get myself hurt that is why. I stayed alive that is what i did! So please MIWAY please tell me why did i not have to prove ownership when you listed the insured items on my insurance. WHy then did you not worry how or where or if i had them? Is it because you were happy to collect a premium for it knowing that when it comes to claiming you would have a bag of tricks to ensure that items are not paid out. And no people. A photograph where you are wearing the item is not enough to prove ownership. A Quote for the replacement of what you had is also not sufficient proof they want a physical invoice as proof. You have to keep following up on claims and when you do hear back you are so shocked at the amount of information they need. You cant help but wander why they need agents if you are the one obtaining all the documents for them. I will never refer any person to MIWAY nor will i ever go back. They request information from you, after submitting that information they then request further information and that is the way it goes on and on. The claim process was not a pleasure at all. I did not even see the claim process to the end.

Thank goodness for Valerie! Still does not solve anything. once again i have a truck load of documents to complete. I again requested that Roxanne let me know exactly what is still needed so that i can complete everything together. This did not happen. You get documents then once submitting it. You get another batch to complete. #noteasy #notstressfree #gladicancelledmiwayinsurance
