Miway - or the highway
I'm giving them one star for living up to their name.. their-way, because in their mode of operation we have to accept the cliche of its My way or the high way. Apart from my debit order for normal.household and vehicle insurance, I took out additional insurance on tyre and rims. Well, I think they should add that the approval of a tyre is the lowest cost of a tyre in that spec. So don't worry if your other 3 tyres are for example Bridgestone or whatever, you simply submit pictures of your tyre that's been shredded by a pothole and an assessor bases his approval on a picture. And approves most likely the cheapest version of that spec. Now I'm not a specialist in vehicles, but I know that you can't have different brands of tyres on the same axle. Or that my rim needs to be inspected for damage. Let alone the rim cap that completely went awol when I hit the pothole. So the wonderful assessor approves a claim which is R1k less than the cost of my tyre, no wheelcap even replaced, or my car being towed to an auto assessment centre to check for damages. Yet, after my response the amount they approve is as low as you can go, was not a fair cost of what my tyre costs - and this is after getting 3 dofferent quotes, and Miway requesting to send quotes for the assesor to have a look at, the assessor, Thabiso, has now been sitting and deciding when it would be a convenient time to have a look at my claim. I've followed up for weeks and everytime I get the "it's being escalated" excuse. So I'm out of pocket not just for having paid my insurance since then, but also paying for my tyre myself. I genuinely would like to know when exactly the assessor will have the time to look at my quotations and claim? Should be interesting what escalation will be up next..
