Miway, not transparent with their clients as they claim to be
Yesterday I had an incident with my car where the battery was flat, I was at home so I thought since I still have help benefits, let me call my insurance for assistance. The service provider was late an double booked me with another client I'm assuming because he wanted the work. Nevertheless, it took him 5mins to restart the battery. Later same day, my car overheated and I needed my car towed. When calling the agent he informs me, that my benefits are almost up, and I will have to pay the balance of the tow truck. I was shocked to say the least, and asked him why he said that my benefits are limited to an Amount as per my policy and he asked me if I read it, so I said who reads a policy when u have an emergency??? Nonetheless I told him the APP is then misleading telling u have benefits when u actually are limited
The part that really ****ed me off is, when I asked him how much the guy charged to start my car the morning, and he said R1100 😐, I was so shocked because I could have gotten it done privately for cheaper. Why it made me mad was that there was no transparency as to the service providers used by MiWay and how much of the benefits is used. If you know your clients benefits are limited why don't u tell the client this us how much the service will charge is it okay to appoint them because the benefit will be reduced! Because now when I needed my car towed which is more urgent, I had no benefits and had to pay extra R1000 for towing.
You guys are not transparent with your clients, and are using extremely expensive service providers, and are really not helping your clients use the benefit of their policy! I'm totally appalled by this because I need now to have my car towed again to a repairer and I have to pay out of pocket because my benefits are used up because u use expensive service providers. Definitely not value for money
