MiWay needs to be investigated!

Going through the amount of complaints logged on Hello Peter regarding processing of claims, this should be taken up with FSB on a formal investigation on how and why they reject claims. Not to mention that I have heard from an Insurance employee, (told in confidence and will remain anonymous) that MiWay claim processors get paid commission to reject claims. Carte Blanche could do justice in taking the numerous complaints and building the trend so obvious on their unjust and lack of professional treatment once it comes to paying a claim. Ever so eager to advertise how they will phone for 10 months after a client has been in a coma, referring to your latest ad, it comes to mind how you pay for your above the line advertising.

As so many of the complainants, I too am a victim, firstly of being treated like a ********, and being investigated on all levels which has nothing to do with the accident in question. Not only on the first appointment with the assessor have I been immediately accused of being intoxicated and had to submit bank statements, credit card statements etc. to check if I frequented bars or bottle stores during the day. Not only was I intimidated but so were the witnesses. I picked up friends from a bar and skidded on the gravel. Being a women I stated that I felt their was not traction, hell does that not happen on a road with dirt or gravel? O... warning!!! to all don't ever quote anything of what you think it could have been when you don't have the knowledge of mechanical workings, that will be thrown in your face that they do not pay for mechanical issues. Funny how the so called inspector did not find anything wrong with the car as such.

All the requested documents have been submitted pertaining to the accident, full tracker reports for the 6 hours before and after, the bank statements and credit cards for the full day up to six days after as apparently some institutions only bank their takings a week later... yet continuous non-relevant information is requested. Is the a stalling process or a fishing expedition to find a loophole to not honor what their supposedly offer as a service? Insurance? My personal experience is that MiWay does not know the term and what insurance means....

So much for the 7 days to settle a claim. Think twice about falling for their false advertising and eagerness to place you first as client. They are quick to deduct that debit order on time. Just don't have an accident, they stall, intimidate and request irrelevant information that has no pertinence to the actual claim in question.

My accident happened on the 31st of August. The first time MiWay decided to grace me with their presence was on the 6th of September. We are now on the 20th of September. I have been informed via mail that the car is a write off, but due to the fact that they do not want to settle the claim they are now requesting tracker reports for three months, did I drive the car on a regular basis etc. It is like having a house burglary but you have to investigate who frequented the premises for the past three months???? I am just so glad that I do not have my household and life insurance with you... it would be handing out charity to your investors on a monthly basis....

MiWay certainly sets the standards for the worst Customer service when it comes to Insurance.

MiWay has done their due diligence and what is required of them to make sure claims are submitted in honesty and in detail. We get frustrated and lash out. We also need to make sure we submit honest and correct information in order for a claim to be settled. My apologies for posting my frustrations you are after all doing what you have to to ensure claims are investigation for validation. You have done your due diligence and the investigation took some time. Thank you for communication and apologies again for lashing out. Thank you Mr Combrinck, Rene and Josias, for your service.
