miway namedrop system a ****!!
The miway 'namedrop' system is a ****!!!
I joined miway at the beginning of June this year (2020). I saw that if you 'namedrop' (give them contact details of friends and family) you will receive a R1000 for every person who joins. So, naturally I put my fiancee's name forward. Apparently the system is supposed to generate a link which they send to the person you 'namedropped'. No such email ever arrived in my fiancee's inbox (he double checked that). So, we forgot all about it.....
Today my fiancee received a call from a miway agent (21 July 2020) wanting to give him a quote for insurance. So naturally I knew they got his number from my 'namedrop' on the system. As they were talking, I logged into my miway account, only to find that the 'namedrop' for my fiancee had expired 3 days ago! I tried to renew and the system said that it was an existing lead!!?? Now, how is this possible? If it was not an existing lead when I originally put his contact details on, how did they get his number MAGICALLY just after the 'namedrop' expired????
This looks like a **** whereby the system *****s the contact information as soon as the namedrop expires, so that they do not have to pay you for the R1000 lead and then uses the numbers for sales. If not, how on earth did they obtain his contact details, if they did NOT have it as an existing lead before????
