Miway LEFT ME VERY ANGRY.
We all join car insurance so that in event of accident we are covered as policy read agreement, but at Miway this is totally, totally different. I write from very painful experience. I am very angry about how my simple case was handled, this Miway complicated it just to avoid fixing my car that was costing only R2 600(two thousand and six hundred rands). I was with Miway from 2016 & they were always telling how valid client i was, i didn't know that it was because i was not claiming anything. My story started when i hit a pothole with my car, the only thing i could see damageg was the tyre & nothing else on the body or anywhere & no other cars were involved, i drove home to pack the car as it was still drivable then started the claiming process, i was asked to upload car pictures for assessment purpose, which i did. Miway phoned to finalise the case by telling me that according to the pictures it will cost R2 600(two thousand and six hundred rands) to fix it so they decided to write it off, saying the reason is they take the retail value which is R39 300 then subtract what they call savage value which they said is R37 335 which leaves amount of R1 965, in other words this is the amount all the times my car was covered for, even though i was going to further reduce their R2 600 fixing cost by paying the R1 800 access which they were only going to pay R800 still they refused to fix & rather write my car off, no ways, there is no way this will make sence. I wasted money paying premiums for four & half years & they never told me nor did they write on policy documents about the salvage value. I have asked my colleague who is insured by Miway & he as well does not know about salvage thing. Miway will only tell you about the value of your car. Miway takes advantage. I regret so much especially experiencing these during our crisis of covid-19. No support what so ever from Miway. Now i must apply for personal loan to fix my car when i don't even know how i will pay it back as our salaries we heavily affected by covid-19.
