Miway is ridiculous.

I joined Miway Last year when I had bought my car, I was pleased with their service until it came to the time I had to make a claim.

Reasons why I am very disappointed in the service from Miway:

1. The guy who handled my case interrogated me with numerous questions , trying to find out if the accident was my fault, he had told me that despite having comprehensive cover, if they found that the accident was my fault (which it wasn't) they would not pay for the damages. A male relative then called him up and asked him how could comprehensive cover not cover, (we assumed that just because I was a girl, he tried to take advantage of the situation). Surprisingly , after speaking to my male relative he said not to worry, Miway will cover the damages :/.

2. The accident was not my fault. I expected, after paying the excess of R4500 , to get feedback on the guy who smashed into me, so he could pay me back, 8 months later and I got nothing. Yet I bet if he owed Miway the money , they would hound him down.

3. My profile was recently under reciew with Miway last month, and my premiums ridiculously went up from R2300 to R3000, yet I don't even have the courtesy car option. Nobody had even informed me of this, until I went onto my online profile only to find out that my profile was under review.

4. The impact of the accident 8 months ago caused a chip on my windscreen to turn into a huge crack. I was told to claim separately for my windscreen. Recently I had made a claim for my windscreen, which I had to pay an excess of R850. Today I got an email from miway which reads:

"Dear Miss Claudette Reddy We continuously strive to provide information to our clients on measures to take in order to improve their risk profile and ensure that they are correctly covered. An analysis of your claims profile was conducted following your recent claim and we noticed that the frequency in which you claim, as well as your claimed amounts in relation to your premium is higher than the average of our client base. Unfortunately, if your profile does not improve, one of the following actions could be implemented on your policy in the future: • Cancellation (A cancellation of insurance based on claims history would make it difficult to get alternative insurance) • Increased excess • Increased premium We urge you to take steps to improve your claims profile and where possible minimize the occurrence of future claims Please do not hesitate to contact us on ***(0860 mi mi mi) if you have any questions. Kind regards Greta Goosen Head of Client Services"

What kind of an email is this?? What do they mean by minimize the occurence of future claims?? Do they really think that I want to keep paying excess amounts all the time? Like as if im doing stuff deliberately that is leading me to make a claim.

This is certainly not Miway. nothing about this insurance is my way. Their name should be "OurWay or the highway"

As a client that used to praise Miway. I am disgusted with them.
