Miway is a BIG LAZY FAT PUFF Adder SNAKE !!! Laying in wait for opportunities to work people over!! …. yes it in not called “MY” way for nothing… for things are their way!!!! This case proofs again how sneaky the insurance industry is!!!
I was involved in a car crash where the other driver turned in front of me at an intersection. Right across my right of way. First I had to spend R400 just to get information on the driver that caused the accident… for he did not even want to say who was his insurer(MIWAY)… then I had to use Hello Peter for MIWAY to respond to my mails and claim… for they just ignored all my initial emails !!!!! Now I know why!!!!!!!!!! Then after all that …….… whahaha here it comes…!?!?!? Miway made sure I signed a binding document beforehand full of technicalities (Legal talk for lawyers) about handling of the claim (Liability claim)… and now I know why. They are all just *********…….. Well, after sending them all the info and documentation … I had to keep on asking … “when are you going to start on my claim?”
And so after they eventually decided to start working they had the joke asking me this (they had all my requested documentations for weeks): “Our client’s claim has now been authorised and I can instruct the Assessor. Kindly advise of the engine size – 1.4, 1.6, etc. in order to send the instruction today. “
WOW !!!! This request after I had to send them a list of documentation with the pedigree and details of anything possible under the sun??? For what??? The documentation included the registration forms of the car which stated clearly the size and other details….. Stalling??? Next…..Guess what… now they wanted pictures of the car??!!!!!More stalling… Really?????..... So I supp**** and again it was me that had to ask week after week…. “How long must I wait?” …. In the meanwhile I had NO transport…… nothing!!! So here it comes!!! The result after being without a vehicle… for months they are only giving us R2418.00 which includes my towing of R1500 from the accident scene. Effectively I am only getting R918 for the car that was written off with damage of over R32000 and when I deducted the R400 to find the other driver I actually only get… wait… wait…….. R518!!!!! Their best logic is coming>>>>>>> Their insured driver turned into my driving lane at an intersection and thereby causing the accident. According to them I am now responsible for 40% of all the damage to both vehicles and he only 60% of the damage to both vehicles. (When you are involved in an accident, you are responsible as well)
The damage to my vehicle was put at R56000 by assessment supp**** to them from 2 companies which actually saw the vehicle in person and they then came up with their own quote of R32000 from using the pictures I had to send them. This would thus of course limit the amount they are liable for and increase the amount I am liable for on the other vehicle
This is their logic when looking at the accident.
The other driver was the cause of the accident and now I have to pay for damages to his vehicle which is more expensive than my car and thereby effectively negating money payable to me when looking at the appointed liabilities according to Miway.
The message basically is that if the person causing the accident has a car which price is high enough compared to yours, you can forget about getting any money from him or his insurance.
I say that if he did not cause the accident then I would not have had any damage.
Now because of technicalities in which insurance companies flourish in using I should deem myself lucky that I am not, despite my own losses, still having to pay additional money towards the party who was the initial cause of the accident.
Make no mistake. Miway has covered their behind by the mass of documentation you have to sign and supply before starting to look into your claim. They are following Very Legal procedures.
You have to supply everything to enable them to make up a scheme as to either ignore you, drag out the claims process, or pay out the least possible money while appearing to be legal.
You may of course take the matter to court should you not agree but be sure that this would cost you even more and they know it.
Well Done Miway !!!!!!, you know how to deal “fairly”………….although this might only be your own opinion
Thanks to the error in judgement from your insured driver and your “fair and ethically” correct claims process I am now minus a car which was my sole mode of transportation. At least Miway will survive as a financial institution and I will be able to take a few taxi rides to the value of R518. Thanks for breaking any positive notions I might have had towards other drivers and surely insurance companies like MIWAY. You have wasted my time and efforts and if you were just straight up from the start by telling me I will be worked over then I could have gone on with my life without any false expectations from you.
Message to everybody out there. Buy a very expensive car and then drive like your backside. Should you be the cause of the accident, Miway will make sure with they claim your expenses from the guy in the innocent car. They might of course give you issues to limit their payout to you but remember they are a financial institution which will make money at the end.
Yes proven BIG FAT LYING SNAKE!!! They spend days on BS paperwork instead of being straight-up and forthcoming……..Well what is to be expected from their inherent nature????
