Miway Insurance - worst experience

2018 I left my trusted insurance Kingprice only because they didn't have business cover I joined Miway Business. Miway was difficult, waving lots of technicalities just to increase the premium e.g. despite the vehicle being a 24hr shuttle they required a night address, they had issues about a relief driver to a point I changed him to be regular. Seeing that after a year in business, it was uneconomic as I split the income across the bank, commission, insurance, driver, fuel and maintenance. I stopped the business, requested a downgrade to private and was quoted quite high, I gave notice to leave March 2019. End March 2019, I was hit at rear bumper and put in a claim as cover was still valid to month-end. I paid in R5000 excess for replacement and requested the old bumper. I was shocked to discover on collection that panel beaters had on Miway instruction, put back the damaged bumper hence it did not fit perfectly. I challenged this and got them to fit in a new one. Few months on Miway called and in a highly manipulative marketing call, convinced me to get back, in the call recordings of which I just replayed, the guy did mention that my details had not changed and I believed this meant he was referring to my existing profile. I asked the guy about thrice which cover he was giving me (retail?) and when I requested that I go consider, he hurriedly settled for his choice and the retail query conveniently fell in the cracks. 12 February 2021, I lost the vehicle to theft. My nightmare began. From disputing the model year, to waving possible excess because driver was below 25yrs, Miway will not settle the full amount owed to Wesbank and insist my cover is Trade, which I argued as I believed this had been based on my original profile which the consultant referred to by “your details have not changed” and I confirmed they had not, also despite my asking about retail, he evaded this with lots of other stories and promises. At the time of cover Miway also insisted on their recommended Tracker, they facilitated cancellation of my Bidtrack where I could track my car on my phone. They also facilitated cancellation of altern

Insurance cover. Tracker has also said they take no responsibility for failed recovery of a ****** vehicle which is another case to challenge as I am asking what was I paying them for? The short of it all, I was wood winked to get back to Miway subscription on promises of a better service and am getting the worst. Today they are leaving me not only without a car or access to vehicle finance to get a replacement car, but also arrears, needless to say I was only months away from paying up the vehicle. This is **************** and a rip-off, it is a shame!
