MiWAY Insurance Forcing Me To Let Go Of My Vehicle AS The Claim That The Car Is A Write Off
Good day,
I lodged a claim with my insurance Miway on the 30-10-2017.
For my vehicle that the front bumper needs to be replaced and the a dent on the rear door that will require a paint however the car is totally drivable . On Tuesday I took my car in at a panel beater called renew It in Sunninghill for an opinion to see if I can get a personal quote of which I got a verbal quote of about R30000. However yesterday upon Miway Insurance assessor finalizing everything just when we concluded our conversation I get an email from Miway see it below. The consultants I was dealing with is Mmabatho Mooketsi and Maureen whom I went to see yesterday but could not even see me she sent her colleague to come talk to me regarding me letting them write off a car that is drivable and is not financed I feel like Miway want to bully me as my car is bought cash and they want to take advantage of this as the car I am driving is bought in cash. So my situation here is that I requested for a disclaimer of which I am entitled to. And only on Monday that I get told that since I am claiming within 2 months I must pay a ridiculous excess of about R12000 of which this was never told before hence when I joined Miway they said that my excess is R5000. I have the car in my position and if you look at the mail I got from Miway is like the car was towed into some yard and all they need from me is the keys and documents how on earth did they come to such a conclusion to write off a vehicle that is roadworthy and moving very fine? I was requested by their manager yesterday upon the meeting we had to get at least 2 quotes of which I adhered to their request which one I got for about R28000 and the other of about 36000 of which the Miway insurance quote is way less than this 2 amounts which Miway insurance quote is about R19000 and something now my question here is Am I being fooled or what? I will not let this go until they settle my claim I have requested for a disclaimer I don't understand why am I being treated this way. All I want from Mi way is to say look we have finalized the claim do you want to take the vehicle to a panel beater that Miway is affiliated with or you want a disclaimer which I then repair my own vehicle. Just because my car is not financed I feel like that Miway are testing the waters with me on this So I am doing so people could be aware as to what is going on I will also go 702 talk Radio to speak about if this does not get resolved ASAP. Dear Leonardo
