Miway hit by heavy hailstorm

My tenants have household contents insurance with Miway. Earlier this months Pretoria West was affected by heavy hailstorm which resulted in many houses being damaged, cars swept away and worse two people were also swept away at Apies River. Part of my house has a flat roof and because of the hail the room leaked and my tenants properties were damaged. MiWay is now claiming the room was not maintained and as a result they declined the claim. My roof is fairly new a I extended the house in 2014 and had to change the roof recently from corrugated Iron to IBR. MiWay called me asking me all sort of questions, they also took the numbers of my constructors and also call them. The tenants content has got nothing to do with the structure of the house. Do they consider the severity of the storm. Did they check with the local whether services to find out about the severity of the hail storm. Did they say anything about the house structure whey you took out the policy? if the did why didn't they advise their client not to move in because of inferior building structures. Rachel Lewis please get your facts straight and stop hiding behind roof maintenance. I'm currently spreading the word to my colleagues, family and friend to avoid Miway. We will also be reporting this matter to the Ombudsman
