Miway finalising claim without considering the evidence.

I lodged a claim with Miway for damaged furniture due to a burst geyser. They advised me that the furniture renovations company (Dryforce) will uplift the furniture for repairs, I had to struggle to get an assessor to assess the furniture before they remove it so that I can make an informed decision.

I had to wait numerous days for the report and had to do the follow-ups in my personal capacity. The report eventually stated that no physical damage is vissible and that the furniture needs drying and a polish. I disputed the report and attached photos of the cracked legs of this furniture, it is clearly visible. Why would I lodge a claim if the damage was not visible.

I furthermore challenged the assessor to reconsider the report and made myself available for another meeting. Dryforce promissed on 2 occasions to confirm a new meeting time but to no avail. Out of frustration did I even offer to contact 2 other contractors for a second opinion but again Miway did not even respond to that.

After that did I receive a call from Prince at Miway to say that they are closing the claim and going ahead with the drying and polishing of the furniture. I said that I do not accept and demanded a second opinion, Miway's response was to refer it to the disputes department but in the meantime are they closing the claim. Prince did not bother to hear me out and kept on interupting and referring me to the disputes department.

Why should I refer the matter when clealry the evidence is conclusive and that damage is clearly visible.

Miway, please explain this to me as I am an extremely frustrated client! Why can't you walk the extra mile, why must I pay R1800 per month, to have peace of mind............................I don't think so.
