MiWay does not want to pay out!!
It’s all fun and games when they are taking premiums from you, but when it comes to them paying out a claim? You could wait 6months of their stupid investigations.
I have had an accident that led to an oil leak in my car and other damages that I was not aware of. As my car is still under warranty, I thought it would be wise to inform my dealership of this before anyone else.
The dealership advised that I bring the car to them, they did a diagnosis and were able to advise what the damages were.
This is then I called MiWay to lodge a claim, worst process! I opened a can of worms!! As per their procedure I guess, they sent their own assessor to have a look at the car, by the way it took the assessor a week to be allocated, the assessor did not pitch on the day they promised but a day later.
Bare in mind on all of these days the car is accumulating charges at the dealer and no one is communicating with me or giving me any update!
After their assessor finally checked the car, they provided their own quote against that of the dealership and asked me to decide if I want to fix with the dealership or with them (I was assured they have people that are certified to deal with cars that are under warranty).
Doing a comparison of their quote against that of the dealer, I saw that they had detected a bit more damages than the dealer so I asked MiWay to fix my car.
I was liable for the charge at the dealer for diagnosis of the car and storage, not that MiWay cared about that.
After days of emails to MiWay (since they towed my car lord knows where) I was contacted to be told that there isn’t any work done in the car yet, and that my claim needs to be discussed with the senior manager.
What’s there to discuss because they provided a quote and promised to have it fixed???
Another day passed and I was told they believe the car could have a mechanical failure and not an accidental damage (this is them trying to dodge paying out my claim and rather blaming the dealer so it Can be fixed under warranty).
I mean if it was a mechanical failure, wouldn’t the dealer have advised so? Wouldn’t their assessor have picked this up when he did his part??
Now I have to go weeks again without my car, and not that it’s being fixed but it’s being “investigated”
I’m very frustrated at this stage and do not know what to do
