Miway DOES NOT provide sufficient third party cover.

A Miway client drove into me when he failed to stop at a stop sign.

The cheapest quote I got to fix the damage to my car was nearly R14 000.

After a lengthy wait (about 2 months) Miway offered to pay little over R4000 for the R14 000 damage to my car that their client has caused!

This resulted in me having to now sue their client for the damage as there is no way I will be paying almost R10 000 for damages that I did not cause.

Apparently, according to them, their clients have the right to dissobey basic rules of the road by not stopping at stop signs. I doubt the court will agree with them. Their client will now have to pay my damages on top of their premium.

Just a fair warning to anyone who thinks they get third party cover from Miway. You don't and you will probably end up having to pay out of pocket when they refuse to pay out damages that you cause.

I just received a call from Miway on my husband's phone. I was told that I have 2 options. To find a panelbeater that is willing to fix my car at the ridiculously low amount that they decided on. Or to take legal action against their client. So in other words, basically all that I said in my original report is true and now their client will be taken to court due to their lack of coverage. The lady that I spoke to answered none of my questions and kept on responding with "pre-trained" answers. I might just as well have spoken to a robot. Also, they still insist that not following basic road rules only puts you at 10%more fault than the person who does follow road rules. I would never get insurance with Miway because I don't want to have to get sued if I happen to drive into someone.

We believe that Madeleine has since given you a call to explain the process to you in more detail. She has also suggested what you can do should you still disagree with the outcome and once done we will have a look into your concerns again.

Until such time, or should you need anything else we urge you to give us a call.
