Miway charges for cover cancelled in January

<p>I bought a car in January this year and opted for Miway. I received a cheaper premium elsewhere and cancelled the Miway insurance contract.</p> <p> </p> <p>Everything is fine. No premiums paid to Miway for Feb,Mar,Apr.</p> <p>Then suddenly in May a consulatant call to offer us cover. We tell him no we dont want cover. He then somehow tells my mother a 62 year old semi retired woman. : " must i leave the contract as it is." She says. " Yes". He then sneakily (probably to push a sale), activates the policy and makes a note on the system. I advised the client that the policy is active and she agreed to it. How can the policy be active if no premiums were received for 4 months.</p> <p>Miway have started charing me every week for the outstanding premiums</p> <p> </p> <p>Whats worst the direct sale manager who called me last week. Promised to call back on MOnday. No call yet. She says, that there was not a follow up note from retentions on the system that is why the contract is still in force. Why would the policy be at retentions if it was not cancelled and Miway was not trying to change my mind</p> <p> </p> <p>So I have moved all my funds out of my current bank account. and Miway continue to charge the premiums and my account goes bad and is the negative. This is the 6th time i have had to pay unpaid debit order fees. I app**** for a smart device at FNB last week and was rejected as my account had so many unpaids.</p> <p> </p> <p>My entire life has come to a stand still because Miway decided that 4 months later without receiveing any premiums they can activate a policy they forgot to cancel and push the blame and burden on to me</p> <p> </p> <p>Please provide me with your regulators details for me to take this matter further</p>
