Miway car insurance premiums

So when I sold my BMW a few months back I had to cancel my insurance with MiWay but took out an accident policy to keep my profile and account open.

A few weeks back I was extremely excited as I had purchased another BMW almost identical to my previous vehicle, so I called MiWay to get my car insured as I have been with them for a few years and having not claimed I was under the impression I would be getting a quote close to my previous premium as my new vehicle was almost identical to my previous car. for my previous car( 2003 BMW E46 320d Sport) I was paying R330pm( previously paid R440 till my policy was reviewed) for comprehensive cover with an excess of R3500 if I remember correctly. For my new car (a 2004 BMW E46 320d F/L) I was quoted R770 with an excess of R4000 and after speaking to a retention agent they brought the premium down to R580 but with R4000 excess.

I have gotten a quote from a different insurance company which gives comprehensive cover for R280 and R1500 excess.

Its very upsetting to have been with a company for such a long time and claim free and they still can not give you a decent premium.

My family and I a few vehicles insured with MiWay but I do not think this will be the case for very long
